I was chatting with my friend, and he asked me "What makes you you?". That is to say, what is the one biggest thing that makes you stand out from everyone else you know? Feel free to respond with your own answer to this question, I would be interested.

My Original Answer: Ill go with my desire to find out new things, and to try new things, often in a very controlled scientific way. So, yes.. most teens experiement with some drugs, have sex, try alcohol..But I do that stuff to actually find out how my body reacts to it, its benefits and downsides, and i would like to go more extreme. For example, I would like to either stab or shoot myself, probably in my gut somewhere. I wont fear getting stabbed/shot if ive done it already. Ill have a doctor help me and give me advice.

My Friend's Response: Btw JC, but this is just my 2 cents...But I don't think it's wise to shoot or stab yourself. Firstly, there's the obvious reason that you could either kill or seriously wound yourself. (Apart from that fact that NO doctor would supervise the "experiment" as you said before.)But mainly, I don't think being shot/stabbed will make you fear it any less. I think you're realise the excrusiating pain you must go through after being wounded, and that will only make you do everything you can to not be shot again. Also, there's a negative effect of the experiment. IF you do indeed survive the first shooting, you may beleive you're strong enough to be shot again, if you are held at gun-point - and may pull off some risky shit and get shot again. Just remember that if this does happen, it won't be done in a controlled manner where the object is not to kill you. This time the shooter will be trying to kill you...It's very different. Then again, it may be positive, in it's own strange way...Either way, just my 2 cents. But I'd highly recommend you not go through with it.

My Response To His Response: Obviously theres a risk to my body, so i wont dispute that. The doctor, yeah.. thats my biggest problem, but doctors are money grubbing evil whores who used to care about helping people, which is why I know they can be bought for the right price. plus its either with a doctor or on my own, they decide.Secondly, my statement of why i want to do this.. im pretty sure itll work. One expamle: my friends (some) slit their wrists. I couldnt understand why. some tried to explain it to me and said something it was to relieve stress, etc. I understood a little bit, but not as much as I thought. So I cut my arm, and deep. It bled some, but it didnt hurt much. I did it when i was relaxed, not stressed out, not angry or depressed etc. I still didnt understand why they did it though. But one day I was really messed up, and stressed out i nearly had a nervous breakdown. And at one point I took a knife, and almost cut myself. but i didnt because I told myself i would ever do it unless i was relaxed and i had planned to do it beforehand. If i hadnt tried it, I definately would have cut myself. Also, you said in the second paragraph that i might fear the pain even more, but in the third you warned of getting too cocky. well, yes, either is possible, but i can sontrol myself and make myself aware of the pain, and keep in mind the danger, but still understand it, since ive felt it before. Also, if im in a dangerous situation, i wont freak out (or will be less likely to) because ive been in a similiar situation before.Im likely to be in a situation like that at some point, and id rather be aware of the dangers, even to the extreme of inflicting it upon myself. One last reason is because I can then relate to people who have been shot or stabbed. might sound insane, but I want to experience everything extreme or unique situation i can, but if i die in one, i cant experience more, so the next best thing is in a reasonably controlled enviroment.Ok, so, obviously, this is a weird thing to want to shoot yourself when you arent suicidal, which is why i am me. which is why i put that as my one example that makes me me. my extreme inquisitiveness.

Philosophy is questions that may never be answered. Religion is answers that may never be questioned.

"God does not exist if Big Bang cosmology, or some relevantly similar theory, is true. If this cosmology is true, our universe exists without cause and without explanation. There are numerous possible universes, and there is possibly no universe at all, and there is no reason why this one is actual rather than some other one or none at all. Now the theistically alleged human need for a reason for existence, and other alleged needs, are unsatisfied. But I suggest that humans do or can possess a deeper level of experience than such anthropocentric despairs. We can forget about ourselves for a moment and open ourselves up to the startling impingement of reality itself. We can let ourselves become profoundly astonished by the fact that this universe exists at all."

Some fat people are fat because :

#1: They dont want to take the time to learn to eat healthily. They are lazy.

#2: They dont want to take the time to excercize enough. They are lazy.

But that isnt the case for most.
Others:

#3: Dont have enough time and or money to eat healthy single parents working three jobs dont have the time to learn to eat healthily. McDonalds is much cheaper then going somewhere with healthy food. Some people dont have the time to excercize properly. They have to take care of three kids and work to jobs.

If you look at the statistics, most severly overweight people are poor. This is due to a few reasons (including the ones mentioned above.)

Rich/middle class folks have more free time on their hands. Sure, they may be very busy, but its more socializing, working jobs to pay for swimming pools, expensive electronics, cars etc. - stuff not essential to basically staying alive.

They have enough time to excersize, also, they can afford expensive surgeries to keep them slim. Poor people dont have this luxury.

Alot of overweight people can not get thin without alot of work. Peoples metabolism is different from each other. I am blessed with the ability to eat alot, slack off, and stay thin.

I recently watched a show about a man who was about 100 pounds overweight, and was a triathlete. I dont mean a fat persons triathlon either.

some peoples body structures makes it so they are basically 100 pounds overwieght. If they dont watch themselves carefully, they can get dangerously overweight.

I could go on, but my friend is coming over, so Im done for now.

Aliens... could be much much larger then anything then we have ever seen...

Dinosaurs are about as big as something will get on earth... because of our gravity.. but if a different planet has lower gravity a animal (alien) could possibly be much larger without crushing itself from its own weight.

"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
Stephen Roberts

I know alot of religious people. Quite a few of my friends are religious. What really amazes me about nearly all of them is how quickly they dismiss other religions. I had a world religions class, in the class there was a few christians, and a about the same amount of mormons. They never actually argued with one another, but they would always mumble under their breath or sometimes out loud about how totally stupid the other persons religion was. No wonder religion is the one of the biggest causes of death ever.

Take old Roman gods: There was Ursula (I think) the woman with the snakes on her head. And Hercules, the demi-god. Most modern religious people would just break out laughing if you implied that these gods are not totallay rediculous.

But, of course, walking on water, turning water into wine, parting water, turning a staff into a snake.. these things are completely normal and possible. And God creating a son, then having him murdered for irrational reasons is completely sane. Not to mention, God (pure goodness basically) creating Satan (pure evil basically) for some reason*.

* God created Lucifer, who was an angel, who then turned evil. But, God is all-knowing and all-powerful And knew before he even made Lucifer that he would turn evil. Its really God's fault that Satan turned evil. Let me explain.

Artifcial Intelligence is sometimes defined as a computer that breaks free of its pre-programmed thoughts. Another words, it rebels against its programming. But when you think about that, it is impossible. Certian things are ingrained in computers that they cannot just ignore. It must be removed in order for them to change, which changes there pre programmed thoughts.

I believe humans are the same. I think some things, we just do, and we have no control over. If you believe in God, then you can blame him for it. You are AI, and he is the computer programmer. What I am saying here is God created Satan's mind.

Im tired. Ill change this post later.

"The contemplation of this world beckoned as a liberation (...)The road to this paradise was not as comfortable and alluring as the road to the religious paradise; but it has shown itself reliable, and I have never regretted having chosen it." - Albert Einstien

"A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death."

"I was just joking.":

"Comedy is a parody of life." - Me

Most jokes are just an exaggeration of the truth. So when people say "I was just joking" or "I didnt mean it" they usually did.

If you say a fat person is "the size of a whale" then say you were joking, and they shouldnt get upset, because obviously no human is the size of a full grown whale, should they agree with you? You were just highlighting the fact that they are in fact overweight. This applies for all sorts of jokes. Also, it can be reversed using sarcasm, you can call a fat person annorexic, implying the same thing: they are fat.

Movie Idea #4:

This movie is a comedy about the president of the United States. The first 20 minutes or so of the movie establishes how the president became president. As you can imagine, a president is under alot of stress - constantly. About 20 minutes to 30 miutes into the movie, the president has a nervous break down. He develops schizophrenia, with a second (insane) personality manifesting itself. - similar to Jim Carrey in "The Mask".

The largest section of the movie is the government trying to hide the fact that THE PRESIDENT is schizo. - This could be very dangerous if everyone found out about the worlds most powerful man being insane. Just imagine the president giving a important speech when suddenly he freaks out. If this movie was done right, it could be funny.

No particular ending has stuck to me yet, if one does I'll edit this.

Movie Idea #3:

This post is really about three movie ideas that are really similar.

#1: A series of three movies, each telling a seperate story, related to the other two. Each would have different main characters, and would not even have to be in the same genre as the others.

#2: A movie that takes place at the same time and in the same place as some other famous movie, but doesnt necessarily have anything to do with it. In the background, throughout the movie, you would see the classic/famous movie unfold, reinacting famous scenes exactly the same, but from a different angle.

#3: Two movies about mortal enemies. For some reason, they hate each other with a passion with good reason. One movie tells the story of one enemy, and the other tells the other mans story. Niether of them is evil, they both must vulnerable, but not perfectly moral. During each movie you would sympathize with who you are supposed to.

Movie Idea #2:

The plot for this movie doesnt matter at the moment. At first, the movie would be completely normal. But as you watched it, you would begin to notice odd things in the background. (I'll give examples below) By the end of the movie, you would be totally ignoring the plot, and focusing on the real plot: everything in the background - and by the end.. the foreground as well.

Examples:

- The main character would be drinking coffee or talking on his cellphone(outside, on the street). There is a man on top of a nearby building, threatening to jump. Police cars pull up and try to talk the man out of jumping. You can hear what they are saying very easily. The man jumps, and the main character and camera move along (the main character does not even notice the commotion). OR: the man starts to jump, but the camera moves away before he does.

- The main character walks down the street, and in the back ground you can see the ninja turtles climb out of a manhole. (they are not cartoons, but look realistic - so as to not be incredibly noticeable)

- You see Batman flying above, or Spiderman climbing a wall.

- On a tv screen in the background you see the movie you are watching playing. (not necessarily the same spot.)

- You see famous people walking down the street, or possibly Albert Einstien as a random cab driver.

- Use modern technology to make the same man on the street multiple times (at the same time.) - Similar to during the big battle between Neo and Smith in "The Matrix: Reloaded"

- You see famous scenes from famous movies reinacted in the background. ( The main character could walk down the street into the parade in "Ferris Beuller's Day Off" where Ferris sings.) - any fanous scene works.

- Ill think of more later.

Miracles:

If you ever have an arguement w/ religious people about religion, you know that many times they will bring up "miracles". They say that you can see miracles all around you. How can you explain all these miracles with God? Simple.

There are 6.4 billion people on this earth. We have the ability to spread information all the way around the world (25,000 miles) in half a second. Earlier today I was reading about a beached whale in Tiawan. These miracles are flukes. If this explanation is not good enough, here is more rational proof:

There are 500,000 children who starve to death a week around the world. That means 2 million a month. The other day, I was reading about a little eight year old boy that got hit by a car. The brother and father saw him get hit, and ran across the street to call the police, but they got hit by a car before they made it across.

This is a reverse miracle. The chances of this are very slim (as you can imagine). The point?: For every miracle out there, there are two horrible tragedies. Alot of the horrible tragedies you wont ever hear about, becuase anyone who saw it happen is dead. (if it happens on a boat, in the forest, etc.

This is why I dismiss the arguement of miracles. ^^^^^

"If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him." - Voltaire

When people get sad/afraid/angry/depressed/stressed they turn to something to help them out. Maybe they call a friend, or take pills. Maybe they have a smoke or do drugs. Others will excersize when they get angry or sad etc. Still others will cuddle with a stuffed animal.

Why do some people cuddle with a couple of pieces of fabric sewn together?.. it sounds pretty stupid when you think about it. They know that the teddy bear wont actually protect them physically from anything, but it is still comforting. God is just a Super-Teddy in the collective imaginations of billions of lonely humans.

Really, you can compare it to insane people incredibly well. People who hear voices(schizophrenia) in their heads usually hear them from extreme/elongated levels of stress/fear/pain. If youve ever watched a movie where a soldier freaked out in a war and started hearing voices you'll understand. He/she probably went through some serious fear/stress/pain. <~~~any or all of those.

So back to the original quote:
"If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him." - Voltaire

People have an imaginary friend called God. He helps people through the bad times. He helps them through the hard times. Like a teddy bear, he does not actually help them physically, but he is nevertheless comforting to them, if they "know" he is there, watching over them.

Every year, thousands of people witness firsthand angels, or other religious things. These miracles are truly amazing. But religious people never tend to dismiss these people as crazy. Thousands of people also witness first hand alien abductions. Somehow these people ARE insane. Maybe the difference is this: If you were a religious person and you heard that somebody saw an angel, what would other religious people think of you if you dismissed that person as crazy?.. they would say you do not really have a connection with God, and cannot bring yourself to believe.

Alot of people will argue that many athiests repent to God on their deathbeds. That is true. why? Well, as I said in the other email.. people turn to God when they are in pain/fear/under stress.. and as you can imagine, when you are on your deathbed, they things are quite possibly happening to you.

On an unrelated note, the 29th was my birthday!
